Message Board: Sailing Opportunities

Non-OPO members are welcome to view our message board. You will notice that we do not post contact information. If you think you are or would have been interested in sailing aboard one of the offshore passage opportunities than it is a good indication that you should join OPO. Once you become a member you do not need to come back to the message board as the opportunities will be e-mailed to you as they come up.

In seconds you can become an OPO member like so many other pleased captains and crew.

2/15/2020 from Santa Marta to Panama and ultimately to Australia on a Amel 53

OPO e-mail # 20-08 Boat owner OPOOPO has a very nice and well equipped 2004 Amel 53 OPOOPO named KAIMI. He has owned the boat for 7 years and has made many passages with her. He is sailing with his wife and plans to depart from Aruba soon for OPOOPO Columbia. They can handle the passage to Columbia on their own and even all the way to Panama, but they are looking for one or two experience crew who would like to join them for this first leg from OPOOPO to the Canal (you can even join earlier if you wish but that might be a stretch to plan) and even beyond if everyone agrees. Crew need to be able to stand a solo watch and have previous ocean experience. Robert was referred to us by an inactive OPO member who I did a trans-at with about 20 years ago. This OPO member went on to buy a Garcia 46 and sail around the world with his wife. This inactive OPO knows to only recommend our services to nice people with nice boats and in an e-mail he confirmed both. This is not a forced delivery and Robert and his wife are on this cruise to enjoy and is not a delivery. They do have a web site link and usp=sharing The trip is free but you need to get to and from the boat. If you are planning to join for a longer time into the OPOOPO and beyond, expect to start chipping in for food, but Robert did not say this but I am adding it just in case. They do not want to adopt youJ. Of course you need money for shore side meals and drinks etc. If interested please e-mail Robert at XXXXX@XXXX with your sailing resume and ideas about joining them in OPOOPO Feb 15th (or earlier or later). If you wish to inquire about joining later for the longer passages you may wish to ask about coming down to help make the OPOOPO so you can get to know each other and make plans to join them in the future.
